Patient: I've had a call with acetaminophen. I don't really have shortness of breath unless I climb stairs. No chest pain. I noticed a sore throat, runny nose, or sinus pressure. My throat was sore when this started and now I have pressure around my cheeks.
Doctor: Do you have any medical conditions like asthma around you been sitting better, worse, or staying about the same? They seemed mild at first but the congestion and cough have definitely gotten, if this sounds most consistent, with an acute bacterial sinus infection that persists beyond another week. I'd also suggest a COVID-19 and influenza test. If you develop a higher dose, I'll prescribe doxyluticosone nasal spray. Two sprays in each nostril once a day for seven days. Every six hours if needed, get issued. Doxycycline, a full glass of water, anything else I should do at home. Stay well hydrated. Get plenty of rest. Use saline nasal resins if you're comfortable and avoid smoking or secondhand smoke. If you develop a fever above one or two degrees F, significant shortness of breath, chest pain, or coughing up blood, seek medical care immediately.
Patient: That makes sense.
Doctor: August 10, 2026 at 10 30 a.m. EST to make sure you're in. I'll see you then. Take the medications as directed and I hope you're feeling much better.
Patient: I'll see you on August 10th at 10 30 a.m. EST.
